Family telemovie about two young refugee children who are on the run in outback Australia and rely on the generosity of strangers to find somewhere they can call home. Written by Ron Elliott, directed by Mark De Friest, starring Bill Kerr and Heath Bergerson.
Synopsis
With their mother dead, illegal immigrants Liang and Bo decide to escape from the outback detention camp where they are being held. Armed only with the knowledge to "follow the Southern Cross" the kids make a daring escape to freedom, only to realize first hand that Western Australia is a vast and hostile land.
Guided by a cast of eccentric allies they meet en route, the kids somehow remain protected from the pursuing authorities. News eventually leaks out that the "escapees" are orphans and public sympathy begins to escalate.
In this epic journey, against all the odds, Liang and Bo eventually conquer their fears and find a new home.
